CHICAGO, IL (June 10th, 2021) – Chicago House Athletic Club, Chicago’s newest professional soccer team, announced the signing of two Puerto Rico National Team players; Defender Rodolfo Sulia (Carolina, Puerto Rico) and Goalkeeper Joel Serrano (Arecibo, Puerto Rico.) Both played in Puerto Rico's World Cup Qualifier 2-0 victory over Guyana on Tuesday.

“We’re excited to bring both of these players’ experience with the Puerto Rico National Team to help build the House,” explains Head Coach & Technical Director, C.J. Brown.

Rodolfo Sulia played in two friendly matches with the Puerto Rico Men’s National Team in addition to his World Cup Qualifier debut this week. He also has been a regular with the U20 and U23 Puerto Rico National Teams.

A product of the Mirabelli Soccer Academy from 2010-2017, Sulia seems to have a knack for finding the back of the net, in addition to protecting his team’s. During his time as a defensive midfielder in college at Colegio Bautista de Carolina from 2013-2018, Sulia scored 30 goals in 50 games. His success in school earned him a spot with Fraigcomar FC in 2018 where he recorded 12 goals over the course of 20 games. While competing with Club Atlético Gimnasia y Esgrima/Godoy Cruz in Argentina, he transitioned to a full-time defender. This remained his assignment on the field with Satellite Norte Fútbol Club in Bolivia during the 2020 season and most recently in 2021 with the Metropolitan Football Academy.

“Rodolfo is comfortable on the ball and he is ready to build out from the back,” says Coach Brown of his newest defender. “On the opposite side of the ball, he is ready to do what is needed to make strong defensive plays, and is not afraid to put in a hard tackle.”

“I’m grateful for this opportunity and I plan to give my best to the team every day,” shares Chicago House AC’s newest defender. “It’s a new club in a great city full of new experiences and I’m very excited to be part of it.”

Goalkeeper Joel Serrano joins Chicago House AC as the second pair of gloves on the club’s inaugural roster. Serrano has played three matches, two shutouts, to date on Puerto Rico’s National Team during the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. He has also competed with the U23 Puerto Rico National Team,

Serrano got his start in soccer at the youth level with Atlético San Juan in Puerto Rico before moving on to Levante UD in Spain. This helped him during his tenure playing college soccer at Marshalltown College in Marshalltown, IA. Serrano transferred to Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY for the 2019-2020 season. Most recently, Serrano saw time with the Lakeland Tropics in USL League 2.

“Joel is playing with great confidence and is ready to compete for a starting spot on Chicago House AC,” adds Coach Brown. “He will be aggressive off his line and help us play a high-tempo game.”

“Signing with Chicago House AC means a lot to me. I am very happy to be able to help this new club in every way possible, and very happy to call Chicago House AC my new home,” says Serrano. “As always, the goal is to win everything.”

Pending registration approval from NISA and USSF, the additions of Rodolfo Sulia and Joel Serrano brings Chicago House AC’s roster to nine players:
